Introduction
On numerous occasions, appliances and extensions that failed safety testing though the test and tag are repaired by replacing its plug tops, and extension sockets. This course was developed for those who want to be competent and capable of plug top and extension socket replacement. This training is designed to train and assess, once competencies in fitting plugs and sockets.
Prerequisites
Before taking this course, the completion of a nationally recognised Test and Tag course is required. We will also need your certificate of completion.
What you can learn
This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to competently change plug tops and extensions sockets:
- Determine correctly if an appliance or extension can be repaired
- Knowing the correct process of making the repair
- Selecting the right tools and parts needed to make the repair
- How to accurately trim and strip wires
- Understanding wiring regulations
- Adding plugs and sockets
- Different kinds of plugs and sockets
- Repairing the plug tops or extension sockets safely and efficiently
- Creating reports on the repair made
- Testing and tagging techniques and final checking
Delivery method
This course is done for three hours and done face-to-face using our virtual classroom.
Assessment
